What I Ate Wednesday

October 30, 2012

If you live in Austin I suggest you go to the market Phonecia on Burnet Road. My favorite bread is their Zatar bread. It is a round, flat bread spread with olive oil and then lots of yummy spices!

This is the extra ingredient I bought at Costco and put on my roasted vegetables.

Was this not just the cutest idea!?!? The hostess filled it with sparkling water after we rescued our chocolate.

Ok, so it wasn't Wednesday, but Sunday. This was so good I had to post! The husband made this and called it "French Country Stew". I'm sure I can persuade him to tell me how he made it. I put mine over noodles. My veggie was cauliflower with a lemon mustard sauce with fresh avocado on the side. I admit, some sour cream made it to my plate as well!

Chicken and basil sausage from Whole Foods, butternut squash with spinach and cranberries, basmati rice cooked with extra virgin olive oil.

For dessert! I have found the best prices at Costco.

My New Pop Sickle
I lived on sugar free pop sickles for about 2 years. I began to worry about the amount of aspartame I was eating. I was eating 4-6 pop sickles a day. The food dye was also a concern. I have found the best remedy! You will find these lime bars at Whole Foods. They aren’t cheap, but well worth it.  A great alternative to aspartame and food dye.

Two gluten free products I love and keep stocked at all times!

Spaghetti with a marinara sauce, salad, and garlic bread!

Z-Tejas!
If you go at 5 PM you can get these delicious appetizers from $4-$6. Very tasty!!

They started off giving us corn bread - for free! In my opinion, the butter makes it. This corn bread has corn pieces in it.

Then our selections came out! Spinach and Mushroom Quesadillas, Leo's Street Tacos, Sesame Ahi Tuna, and Catfish beignets.
I have to admit I wasn't too thrilled looking at the catfish beignets, but I tasted them and I was hooked!

Said catfish ...
